Graduate Program Update
The Graduate Program in Design would like to congratulate recent MDes candidates on the successful completion of their thesis projects and oral examinations. Additionally, the program would like to extend further congratulations to the following student accomplishments:
Brad Tober (MDes 2011) will be taking up an Assistant Professor position in the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign starting fall 2011.
Hyuna Park (MDes 2011) will be taking up an Assistant Professor at the Memphis College of Art in Tennessee starting fall 2011.
Kevin Paolozzi (MDes 2011) will be furthering his design pursuits at the renowned graduate program of Cranbrook Academy of Art in Detroit MI in the fall.
Brian Banton (MDes 2010) was awarded an Silver Cube (Student Motion category) by the 90th ADC (Art Director’s Club) Competition, New York, for his thesis video Heterosis.

First year students Angela Noussis and Cheryl Dipede were each awarded a successful SSHRC grant of $17,500 to be applied towards their coming thesis projects in the coming year.
First year students I-Ying (Annie) Chen and Kaila Jacques had their design work recognized by 1st Annual Columbia College Chicago Students in DesignPoster Contest. Annie's poster for Guest Lecturer Colin Ripley was awarded "Best Use of Photography" by judge Chip Kidd; and Kaila's series of posters identifyingdevices used to overcome disabilities were recognized in the "Best Use of Photography Finalist" category.
